Introduction
Renato Zucchelli is the last travelling shepherd left in a metropolis. And he has a dream: leading his sheep to the inaccessible center of the city to meet the children who have never seen him, showing them that dreams and freedom will always be as long as there is still place to believe in a last shepherd., who conquered back his city together with only his sheep and the power of fantasy.

In 2008, Bonfanti directed the short The Words of Stockhausen. With a budget of only six euros, it surprisingly got to Cannes’ pre-selection. In 2009 he wrote and directed the short Ordeal (Inside Me), which was selected by over 50 international festivals, aired on TV and won 11 prizes. For The Last Shepherd, he brought a huge flock of sheep to the famous Piazza del Duomo in Milan, which became big news.
