Introduction

Director
Matteo Garrone

Born in Rome in 1968, Garrone directed his first feature Terra di Mezzo which won the Torino International Festival's Young Cinema Jury Special Award, followed by Guests which won the Kodak Award at the Venice International Film Festival. His Gomorra (2008) won Cannes' Grand Jury Prize, as well as Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Cinematographer, and Best Screenplay at the European Film Awards that year.
