Introduction

In December 2011, Christmas came to director Iwabuchi's hometown of Sendai for the first time since the Great East Japan Earthquake. The Sendai Pageant of Starlight was thrown into jeopardy, but still went ahead. Songs and prayers were offered, and presents were laid next to children's pillows. A musician uploaded footage of a performance at an evacuation center soon after the disaster. Iwabuchi, who believed in Santa Claus until he was 22, spent time with his parents. This documentary is a warmhearted observation of people's lives after the disaster, and their experiences of Christmas.
